Child Dental Benefits Schedule

At Richmond Fine Dentistry we understand that younger members of the family require extra support and dental care. For those requiring family dental care Melbourne, we are involved in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule was designed to assist families with the cost of preventative dental care for eligible children aged 0–17 years. The program aims to make family dental care more affordable to help keep your child’s teeth in good health. The CDBS offers dental care up to the value of $1,052 over each two-year period to eligible children.

Is my child eligible for the CDBS?

Your child is eligible if you receive Family Tax Benefit Part AParenting Payment, or the Double Orphan Pension for the child.

Your child is eligible if they receive ABSTUDY, Carer Payment, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment, Special Benefit or Youth Allowance.

You or your child only need to receive the government benefit at some point during the year to be eligible for the CDBS.

What dental services does the CDBS cover?

The CDBS covers a range of dental services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canal treatments and extractions.

Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work.
